Jeff Albinson
Jeff Albinson was born in Dover, New Jersey. He graduated from Flagler College with a BA in 1979. He graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 1985. Jeff’s practice is focused on professional liability defense, practice management consulting for lawyers and other professionals, complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage issues and guardianship litigation.

After law school Jeff served nearly 5 years as an Assistant State Attorney in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida. During his tenure as a prosecutor he served in various roles, including Lead Trial Attorney. While there, Jeff served on the Pinellas County Arson Task Force and the Child Protection Team.

Jeff next joined the prestigious and nationally known law firm of Merkle & Magri. While there, he handled complex litigation of all sorts, including commercial litigation, complex conspiracy related litigation and cases involving allegations of fraud, white collar crime and political malfeasance matters.

Jeff has also served as general counsel to a large professional liability brokerage, president of a statewide professional liability insurance agency and general counsel to one of Florida’s independent special taxing districts. Jeff has the kind of experience that comes with over 25 years of practicing law. He has practiced in a large firm atmosphere, a mid-sized firm, a small firm and spent time as a corporate in-house attorney. He brings his broad knowledge of administrative operations and complex litigation to every legal matter he handles.
Jeff is AV rated and has been honored as a Florida Super Lawyer and by Florida Trend magazine as one of the Top Lawyers in Tampa Bay. Jeff has also been selected by LawDragon.com as a member of LawDragon’s top 3000 lawyers in the US. He is a frequent author and speaker on topics involving legal malpractice, professional liability, insurance coverage, insurance bad-faith claims and defense under professional liability insurance policies. Jeff also lectures on attorney ethics issues and Cyber Liability as it affects lawyers and other professionals. He has also served the legal, business and insurance industries in a variety of ways including service as: past president of The Clearwater Bar Association, co-chair of the Professional Liability Committee for CLM, chair of the Professionalism Committee of The Hillsborough County Bar and a member of the board of directors of the Gateway Chamber of Commerce.
